About London University Bouldering Event (LUBE)
LUBE is a new student bouldering competition that started in 2010, with every round held at a different London climbing venue.
WHO: University teams from around the UK are eligible to enter. We ask that each University bring no more than 2 teams of 3 climbers each (at least 1 female) and no more than 2 individuals.

ROUNDS: 12 November@The Reach, 10 December@Mile End, 28 January@Craggy 2, 10 March@The Arch.
PRIZES: The overall winner of the Male and Female individual classes will receive custom made glass trophies to keep. The overall winning university will receive the LUBE V12 Award, a custom made award hailing from the valleys of Snowdonia. This will be awarded at all future LUBE competitions as the top award. Along the way prizes will be given to top competitors, ranging from clothing and chalk bags to climbing shoes and fingerboards.
PAYMENT: The cost for entering LUBE 2012 is £200. This is the cost for one university to participate, and each university can bring a maximum of 2 teams plus 2 individuals (ie 8 people).

WHERE: The Reach Climbing Centre, Woolwich, SE18 5NU.

WHEN: Saturday 12th November, 2011.
TIMINGS: Arrive from 9:00am, climbing starts at 10:00am, climbing finishes at 2:00pm, results by 3:00pm latest.
DIRECTIONS: The Reach is just East of the Thames Barrier. If you're coming from central London follow signs for Greenwich and then head East on A206 until a roundabout just past Charlton Park. Turn left onto Warspite Road and then follow signs for The Reach.
PARKING: Plenty of parking for cars around the industrial estate.

TIMINGS: Arrive from 10:00am, start climbing at 11:00am, finish climbing at 3:00pm, results shortly afterwards.
FORMS: I will send out registration forms in an email; please fill them in before coming, it will save lots of time.
DRIVING: Mile End is up in North East London, just south of Victoria Park. From Central London drive up Mile End Road (A11), take a left onto Grove Road (A1205) and then after the rail way bridge take a left onto Cordova Road.
TUBE: The nearest tube station is Mile End on the Central, District, and Hammersmith and City lines.
FOOT: Turn left out of Mile End tube station and then turn right on to Grove Road just before the huge yellow bridge. Walk for about 5 minutes passing a petrol station and under a railway bridge. Turn left down Haverfield Road just after the chip shop, go through the park gates and bear left in to our carpark. The doors to reception are on the right under the covered seating area.

TIMINGS: 10am Arrive, 11am Start Climbing, 3pm Finish Climbing, 3:30pm: Results and Prizes.
TRAIN: The nearest train stations are Carshalton Beeches, Belmont and Woodmansterne.
BUSES: The S4 bus route (Rose Hill, Sutton, Belmont, Carshalton, Roundshaw) briefly runs along Woodmansterne Road close to the centre.
CAR: Craggy Island Sutton is only 7 miles from J8 of the M25 and only 2.5 miles from the centre of Sutton.
From the South we are just off the A2022 Banstead to Purley road. At the double mini roundabout on the A2022 turn North onto the B278 Woodmansterne Road heading in the direction of Carshalton. We are a little way up on the left at The Oaks Sports Centre and golf course. Turn left into the centre and Craggy Island is the building to the left of the golf clubhouse.
From the North we are off the A323 Sutton to Croydon road at Carshalton. Take the B278 South, past Carshalton Beeches train station on your left and lookout for The Oaks Sports Centre and golf course sign posted on your right. Turn right into the centre and Craggy Island is the building to the left of the golf clubhouse.
ROUND 4:
WHERE: The Arch Climbing Wall, 6 Bermondsey Street, London, SE1 2ER.

PARKING: The nearest car park is Snowsfield NCP. Maximum cost per day is £16. It is located on the corner of Kipling Street and Porlock Street. Beware! Kipling is one-way, heading south.
TRAIN/TUBE: The nearest overground and underground station is London Bridge. Come out of the main entrance onto Tooley Street, turn right and walk down past the London Dungeons. After about 150 metres, turn right at the Shipwright Arms pub and behind the blue railings and the private car park you'll see the sign for The Arch.
BUS: Numbers 17, 21, 35, 40, 43, 47, 48, 133, 141, 149, 343, 381, 521, RV1 all go past or through London Bridge Station. Then follow the directions above.
