Hi everyone!
Now you've had a week or two back since the holiday it is time to go boulder laddering again, it all counts towards our internal competition and remember not just the best climbers will get prizes. It costs £1, it goes to charity and we have a generally good time so no reason not to even if you have just started.
Rules are as usual:
20 problems from easy to hard
10 points first try, 7 second try and 3 points third try, there are no bonus holds or points after third try
An attempt counts as your bum leaving the mat on sit starts or your feet on standing starts
Finished problems counts as you having the final hold with both hands in a controlled way
You get score cards from the reception, remember to bring £1
You score yourself so honesty is key
Don't really know how to? Team up with a more experienced climber
So come along on Wednesday and climb the boulder ladder! I will personally hassle everyone there to complete the boulder ladder and I know most of you so no hiding please, if you can't come on Wednesday let me know and do it in the coming two weeks before they take this ladder down and send me the result although we will have most fun if we all can do it at the same time. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you can't figure something out as there are lots of experienced and helpful climbers in the club who know exactly how it was to be new at it. Any questions in advance just shoot us an email
The other thing we have coming up is LUBE, London University Bouldering Event, on the 30th of January. For this competition we need two teams of three and on top of that a few individuals. Unfortunately due to space we can't take everyone but please, email us if you would like to compete for us and we'll squeeze in as many as we can. The competition is held at the Arch Climbing Wall London Bridge so travel will be easy and you'll get to meet loads of interesting climbers from across London and the UK. The event is sponsored by Crafty Climber, Páramo, Pod Sacs, Troll and Lyon (distributor for Petzl, La Sportiva, Beal and a number of other brands). This competition is free so I hope to see many interested.
